I know that much, but I've also heard that you'll be taxed at the same rate whether you buy fuel there or not.

yeah no tax credit with fuel purchase
-
As for trying to understand the quarterly fuel tax thang, feel free to ask. There's guys here who could probably explain it better than myself, but I'll be happy to try. -
i looked on there site and couldnt find it

It seems to me, if BadCompany is correct, there's no real benefit to fueling in Oregon. Sure, you pay no taxes at the pump, but if you have to pay the same tax at the end of the quarter whether you fueled there or not why bother?
-
This doesn't make since to me, but a friend of mine said you'll actually be taxed double if you bought fuel.
-
they used to do the tags remember the oreg plates...
then they dropped that and we had to get us a trip permit to go thru there told them the route and they fig the miles and you paid whatever
yeah there is no reason to buy there you pay the taxes either way no credit -
Don't see how so since you weren't taxed the first time.
-
dunno how they do it now but my fuel tax sheet still shows a big 0 in oregon

I hauled Demolition out of NYC to Ohio. Construction slowed down there for Demolition debris slowed.. Also the rates never kept up with the fuel.
I also hauled some stone one lil thing I noticed in your figures you said 200 miles for one way is that right so really your would need to figure 400 miles to get you back to the quarry or do they have a back haul? back hauls pay nothing. its just enough usually to pay the fuel.
Is their work year round? 9months of work does not pay the bills
Do their own trucks work before you?
17 Dollars a ton for 1 days worth of work is no good we usually shot for 25$ton days we maybe hauled in an 8-10 hour period 5 loads at 5$ a ton to a nearby location or one long haul that paid around that.
How far are you from the quarry?
Can you park the truck there?
IS the Quarry open 24/7
If your hauling stone you need to look at it as an hourlly gig not Milage.
Do they pay hold time in the quarry?
I hauled out of many quarrys ever see the line at a quarry at 6am? 50 trucks 3 loaders? When I got out of Stone hauling 2 years ago we were getting around 60hr I think its around 70 now
