Ours is based on our radius that we run. This year we paid $1100 down and our monthly through September is $401.
You will pay about three months in advance and then 9 months premium, and get three months no premium. Just tuck the money away during those three months for the next years down.
We run regional, and he runs about 400 air miles from home, so it cuts the rate a bit. I believe before we were set at double that.

Oh alright. Is it always 9 months of premiums? I'm still going to check tomorrow.

all these are agencies set up to make money off of what you can do on your own...I think the only things you need to pay an agency to do are for your BOC3 and Consortium...Remember to negotiate the price...Let them know it is $50 cheaper elsewhere....Everything else you can pretty much do on your own...An LLC should be less than $50 through your state, I think the DOT is free...Go to safersys and they will tell you what you need

Where are you Pharm? Are you done for the day?

Where o' where has everyone gone? ? ? ?
Running the wheels off. . . good sign when the forums get quiet. -
Either my internet connection was lousy the other night or the site was hung up... wheel just spun when I tried to reply. yeah I was done for the night. I have to admit I got 2 of the worst loads Monday and Tuesday. Monday was a 130 mile deadhead for a 220 mile trip, and tuesday was a 150 mile deadhead for a 190 mile trip, paying $360 and $280 and each took the WHOLE DAY! I was so mad. 80k and the truck groaning on back roads in WV... took 6 hours to drive those lousy miles and then had to wait at the receiver for 5 hours in a line of trucks pretty much ruining picking anything else up. Thing is, I'll do a $1200 load in a day and a $300 load takes a day as well... so hopefully NO MORE of those! But in fairness, I'm out 6 weeks now and that's never happened so hopefully it's a fluke.
I got a nice video uploading here soon outllining my weekly truck damage lol. -

It's all good! I'm still billing about 4k this week, don't know why I'm complaining!!!! (.. but it shoulda been more lol)bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Its nice to hear everything is going pretty well for you PP. When you started this post, did you think it would grow as well as it has. Started with a few simple question, and look at it now, 91 pages and counting. I too am getting closer to my dream of running my own business. Divorce, single, packed everything up and put in storage. Living at a hotel suite for now. First week in June, giving two weeks notice at present job, then hopefully hitting the road with TMC for flat bed training. I plan on purchasing one of their 387 after about 6 months with them (Cash). I have the funds in my savings account. There advertising there fleet turns in starting # 41,000 to 50,000. I'm hoping to snag one of them for about 35,000 to 40,000 (fingers cross). With nothing to come home for, I would like to hit the road running for 1 to 2 years, then move back home to South Carolina (Charleston) from Birmingham, Al. and lease on with Landstar. Thats the plan anyway. No bills others than what the truck produces (maintenance, Insurance, tires, etc). Please continue to keep us posted with this thread, as it has been informative. As far as trucking goes, this is the best web site that I have come across in my last three month of researching the trucking industry. I know times are hard right now, however, with some disipline (sp) I believe that I can make a go of it.

Just finished reading this entire thread over 2 days..lol. This has really cut into sleep...and more importantly...TV time...lol lol. I'm lovin' following the story like everyone else. I would remind you Pharm....that way back when you came on here ....you were just looking to break even for a year (as in no pay) to gain experience..(which was a practical goal)...and now you're seeing the potential to maybe make a grand a week. I would have to say that under the current market conditions you seem to be doing better than I ...or even yourself ..predicted. If you revisit your original goal and just see any profit as roses you should be able to remain the most up beat trucker out there. Heck...you're not even slipping into the hole with multiple newbie mishaps a week (what happend to the front bumper btw...did you fold it down trying to power thru getting stuck or was it a seperate incident?!?). Once you get over having those (or perhaps limit them to once every 2 weeks instead of twice a week...hee hee hee)....you should still be able to hold your own even if rates get a little worse before they get better. Stay strong!
PharmPhail Thanks this.
