Myself, I parked my authority, and that was or is the issue on my end, firing it back up. Bob was pretty much in the same boat, the reason for the high rates. If I never would have parked mine, I am sure they would be around what your rates are today.

Ikr! That's what i said. U pay 5800 tops for 1mil/100000? Do have a trailer an do u travel 48state? Have u gotten a quote to renew?
Its no other factor brother. I have 13yrs 0 accidents 0 speeding tickets an almost 5 years with numbers. Im researching these Illinois quotes as soon as I'm done. On of my agents will tell me about the illinois carriers to see if it's just u. -
What a bunch off horse pucky..........premiums for trucking for hire is NOT based on "demographics". While it certainly is based on territories, those territories are not typically established by individual carriers, but typically by the ISO, a industry provider that does forms rates etc.
Rates are based on loss experience in a given area, and definitely comes into play with inTRAstate carriers, and therefore you would see a wide discrepancy in pricing.....but anymore, the long haul market is getting a bit more organized and prices are going up pretty much across the board....and especially for new DOT#s, new CDL drivers, predominately leased operator operations and any rapid growth operator. Certain "territories" are problem areas, most often due to loss development issues brought on by juries giving the farm away......Louisiana, South Texas, CA, FL, GA etc,
There is not an insurance carrier who does ANYTHING based on race, name etc.....it's against the law. But we as insurance carriers do see things like you guys see.....Chicago "White Volvo" business is tough to make money on, CA Highway 99 business is difficult, Intercity bus business from border towns, so we adjust underwriting and pricing to give us the best opportunity to earn a underwriting profit for the shareholders.Michael H, whoopNride and Justrucking2 Thank this. -
See. I told you it was demographics. He calls it territories an to me that is a bunch of house puke. Its all about what state u are located. Look at the state's he mentioned! Its called problem area cause he here...DOEDOEwhoopNride Thanks this.

See an he is an insurance agent. Its based on were u reside. An the predominately minority areas are PROBLEM AREAS were he claim its more problems. But i aint had a accident since i started! So why i have to pay extra? Because i live in Georgia! So i have to pay 3 tones as much for Interstate an twice as much as intrastate. I never paid above my 16,500 as a new entrant. The agent saidits cause I'm a young ma'am with 1mil coverage in Atlanta. So u can't say I'm wrong again. I rest my case Mr agent
-
He said it himself see! Based on territories. My guy said it was high paying 16500 as a new entrant INTERSTATE. The reason it was so high he say is cause im 30 years old with 1million in coverage in Atlanta! So how can this agent say it's not demographics!
-
GA is a tough state, NOTHING to do with race, gender etc.......EXCEPT idiot juries who award damages well beyond reason......when juries make big awards they apparently forget EVERYONE ends up paying a bit more.....and when you have jurisdictions like GA, FL, LA, CA etc full of people who want to give it all away, you get what you get.
whoopNride Thanks this. -

I just renew my policy. $6800. That’s 2 million in liability, $100,000 cargo, $15,000 on tractor, $25,000 unidentify on trailer. That’s through Northland and Topa. But go through my broker.
whoopNride Thanks this.
