So you see where I'm going here hey Terry.
Not only am I paying for a new vehicle now I'm giving the dealer a free %10 msrp on a car they don't have to PDI or sell. It's bad enough that the dealer has the ability to run any alleged damage through their own on site bodyshop. No wonder why the insurance overseers want nothing to do with us anymore
Insurance issues are coming.

I've always said that if you damage a car bad enough that you might as well just get the dealer to give you a good price on it but it sounds like they won't give you that option if they aim to make even more off a claim that they would on a sale.
-
If a new vehicle is damaged enough to be in the loss of sale equation, the dealer is out of the picture at that point as far as repair in their shop. It is either going to auction after mfr. has it repaired or straight to the shredder if it's that F' d up.

Nobody is disputing that fact. HOWEVER it is kinda funny that the damage estimates come from the dealers usually on site body shop. How many times has a small scratch on a bumper turned into a whole bumper replacement. Usually this only gets cleared up if you go and ask for the old bumper. That is if a lot attendant didn't already " throw the old one out"Terry270 Thanks this.

Unless the claims process has changed. All claims can be disputed with the MFR. And if the dealer cannot produce the salvage part. Denied.
skinnyb01 Thanks this. -
Yea I think we have a diffrent contract up here. The usual response from the dealers is that THEY will sell the salvaged part and reimburse us. How many times do you think we ve ever seen that cheque.Terry270 Thanks this.

Just remember, EVERY part of a dealership is set up as a "Profit Center" Now you can add check in dept to that list,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, -
Sounds about right.....depending on where you are located, how long you've had your Class A, your mvr, CAB Ratings.....Our OO pricing varies from $ 12,000 or so for $ 1MM CSL/$60UM/Phys Dam/$ 100K Cargo in AZ to $ 25K for a White Volvo in Chicago......and easily could be higher......NYC....Dade County. Our big trouble spots are GA, LA, FL & IL....so rates are going up dramatically.
As respects the original post........Phys Dam is "mostly" written on a ACV basis.....which means we pay Actual Cash Value at time of loss.....which on a new unit with minimum down payment you could easily end up side down with a total loss......sad fact is the units depreciate quicker than you can pay down the note. -
$100K Cargo?

We are in the carhaul section here... -
Amazed at what you see OO's requesting for car haulers........$ 100,000 on up.......Ha Ha.......saw a Take 3 the other day where the "shipper" was requiring $ 1,000,000 in Cargo.....we just laughed.....while we'll do the exotic car movers they have to be enclosed, alarmed etc.
