Right in my loan contract with Daimler Truck Financial it says that the insurance deductible cannot be more than $2500.
One carrier I was at had a $10,000 deductible. So in order to satisfy the finance company the carrier had an optional ‘deductible buy down insurance’ that I paid a premium on for the $7500 difference.
Insurance Question regarding accident.

That is fine and I have done the same a couple of times on small claims, but no law involved either.
Except when it is an owner operator he should be able to use the insurance if he wants to. -
Hi driver,
I currently work as a commercial insurance agent and primarily sell trucking insurance. The deductible is not $9k. It sounds like the company you contract with doesn't want to make a claim on their insurance so they are trying to make you pay out for the full amount. You want to speak to the "claim adjuster" but you will not be able to speak to them without the permission of the policy holder (your company). If I was you I would tell your company that you are willing to pay the damages that you've done but that you want something in writing (email) from the claims adjuster before you write a check. We work with many companies that lease to o/o and I can't tell you how many drivers they #### over with insurance rates (telling them insurance is more than it really is or ####ing them over in claims).TallJoe, singlescrewshaker, Socal Xpress and 3 others Thank this. -
Learning something here. He should be listed with the insurance co, why can he not contact the claims dept?
singlescrewshaker Thanks this.
