I've been in both places. I pay insurance now and they get 5% for paperwork.

I've had insurance bought and they received 25%. I don't care to pay the insurance. Its just a tax deduction.

What insurance agent did you use in Illinois? You can send me a private message. My renewal is coming up, and I still don't have any quotes.

I’m trying to find an answer my self....

new driver. Drove for this person for 3 months and finally told the person I’m not driving for you anymore. However they said that I owe them the $2000 insurance deposit that they paid to get me going. Please help if I need to hire a lawyer. Is it legal for him to charge me it? I also never signed any documents

Yes that’s illegal. Hopefully you’re not working 1099. Like the OP they’re trying to rip you off. Can’t trust anyone. Next time get your money first, before quitting. Unfortunately that’s what has to be done in this Industry. Way too common to have to fight for money owed. Happens all the time.Contact the Labor Board in the Employers State, file a complaint. Turn up the heat. Call him every day at least once, demanding your pay, till you get it.

I would see the $1500 upfront as a red flag. It’s common for Companies to require an escrow account, deducted weekly, once running, till it hits a certain amount. Asking for funds upfront? Never heard of that. I never cared for escrow accounts.I can’t blame them, a $1000 escrow could cover a deductible for a claim. Fair enough. Seems Companies always try to find a way to keep it when you quit. Legal or not. Red Flag!!
