Hello! It’s my first post here, I’m looking for answer and I don’t know where to find. So! I just got my CDL 2-3 weeks ago, and I’m still looking for insurance to drive. I am 19 y.o and I have my own truck and dump trailer and want to work on local. I created my own company and everything is ready except the insurance. Called couple companies and everyone is deciling me to insure, only Progressive said yes- and they told me price: 60.000$ in a year, and absolutely I’m not going to pay that much... can you guys prefer me some good insurance companies which insure under 21 ? With good prices? Thanks, waiting for someone to help me!

I'm surprised you got even one to offer to write the policy. You should have checked into this much sooner. For now at least, your equipment is nothing more than yard art. 19 is just to young to insure a cmv. No experience...I wouldn't even consider leasing you on...if my insurance would allow it, which they most certainly would not.

    you are new

    you are inexperienced

you are a new business person

the first few months to oh about 2 years, you are a VERY HIGH RISK.

and THAT is as a company driver, now throw into the mix, you're a NEW business owner, with NO actual/factual driving experience.?

shop around, but it is what it is.

either that, or lease on with another company, run with thier insurance, and pay them for it.

gonna be costly right out of the box.

    now, have you tried, Sentury?

    John Deere?

    and this company?

Every trucker needs proper truck insurance - Insure My Rig - Truckers Insurance

and finally, i'd highly recommend that you join the OOIDA, they can advise you to a company for you as well.

but it ain't gonna be cheap, for a few years.

    good luck to you

My insurance would never allow me to hire on a 19 year old. He jumped into something without doing his due diligence and now he's kind of screwed.

    you know what...?

i really did not even include his age, thanks for YOU doing so. as i was typing the many things, it slipped my mind.

he cannot even hire someone, to drive his rig, cuz the insurance will still be sky high, as well as paying his driver.

yup, not very good idea to do what he did so soon.

Because I don’t want to let companies eat me. I prefer work on myself than on company.

I don’t want anyone to hire, I just want to make insurance for my self. I have one truck and one trailer. I want to work by myself.

while i can applaud your thoughts, your efforts stink. homework, homework, homework...

you obviously did not do that as pointed out by another poster minutes ago.

and what''s this crap..."Because I don’t want to let companies eat me."

    supposed to mean..??

you read too many stories or sit too much at truck stop counters.
