It's because individuals under a specific age group have proven time and time again that they don't have the skills to operate a car correctly without doing something ignorant and stupid let alone in a 80,000 lbs truck where car drivers tend to ignore them.
Insurance under 21 intrastate, why too expensive?

Unfortunately a lot has changed in the last 20 years. I did the same thing you're wanting to do. I started with my own truck and dump trailer at 20 years old. Progressive covered me on a 100 mile radius with full coverage on the truck and trailer for $3,500 a year. 20 years later my cost for just liability is more than that with a zero loss run. Probably your only option is to drive for a farmer with farm tags.Dan.S, f1n3x and Broke Down 69 Thank this.

I didn't even think it was legal for someone under the age of 21 to drive interstate with a class A.

I want to run local, title is wrong: wanted to put Intrastate.
Derailed Thanks this. -
Was figuring that was the case although where I am local can put you in 3 states. Hate to say it but that quote from Progressive is probably going to be your cheapest.buddyd157 Thanks this.

I'm 20 I got quoted 35000 a year from progressive pulling a flatbed local at age 19. It hasn't gotten any cheaper since I turned 20. They told me 23 then it will be cheaper.
f1n3x Thanks this.
