I run mine up to 45-50 mph. anything higher and you're going to fast for conditions that benefit from locked axles.

Meritor states that you should not drive faster than 25mph when diff locks are engaged. (at least according to the warning label in my truck)

That sticker applies to axles locks, not the power divider locks. And yes, a lot of trucks without axle locks get that sticker for some reason.

Yep, kind of like when my dad married my mom and wondered why she deboned the pot roast before putting it in the pot. "Wouldn't it be easier if you cooked it first?"

Turns out mom learned the recipe from HER mother and that's the way she did it, debone the raw roast first. Well, turns out SHE learned from grandma. When they asked Grandma she laughed, "I didn't have a pot big enough to hold the roast so I HAD to debone it first!"

Sometimes traditions start and folks forget why they started.

I did say, "If you are concerned about improper use, why not hand the drivers a page about that or make us all take a test over the qualcomm to demonstrate we understand" ...that got me an icy silence. I have never been good at deferring to delicate egos in professional situations.

Duh, I thought it would be the same as a single axle truck where the diff lock actually lock the spider gears together so that the left and right axle will rotate the same.

    So, its 'inter-lock' not 'diff-lock'.

Correct. Full-lockers are a bit more common north of the border, but rare in the states except for specialized trucks. I had them on my Sterling carhauler, and they were nice; I could plow snow with that thing! Couldn't turn with them locked, but it was all but impossible to get stuck with all four drives churning.
