Hey all
I am a noob who is leaving for Schneider Driving academy on Sunday the 24th. Have been a mechanic for the past three years so I do have a ton of tools and mechanical abilities.
Will be divorced soon, both my kids are over 18 and I am ready to go on an adventure and going out to TExas or NM or Alaska or WTF ever sounds appealing to me, so I find the oilfields and the money to be made there fascinating.
Just want to learn more
Interested in learning more about the oilfields

Will you be under contract with Schneider?kingodawg Thanks this. -
I live in Ohio, but I am willing to go anywhere. My understanding is I will NOT be under contract with Schneider. I am actually going to be running out of Dollar Tree center in Joliet

They have Oil & Gas in PA and Ohio if you didn’t know.
Probably the easiest way to get involved without just going there is apply to Halliburton or Schlumberger or Baker Hughes etc. Some of the bigger companies that pay for things like travel and housing.
Other than that make a GOOD resume, post it on job sites like Indeed and you’re good to start applying.
Mechanic experience + a CDL should be a pretty decent combo on getting a gig easily.
My only advices would be, stay pissing clean and keep your mind open on jobs out here.Last edited: Feb 19, 2019
