KT, this is interesting. I remember when we first got our authority (right before Christmas) our phone didn't stop with the vulture calls. We still get them, but not as bad. I just hate that our information is public.

I still have people from all over the company calling and asking for my husband, and I ask them if I can help them. If they are a broker, they will talk to me. Scammers will hang up on me. And when you call the # back, the mailbox is full. So no way to know who they are or what they are up to, to report them.

It really is a conundrum with the Federal Gov. (not that the thread has to turn political) is the one responsible for listing ALL of your info to anyone with a computer.

I look at it like this, those MC numbers and everything that goes along with them are basically to a business the same as your Social Security card number is to an individual, and I don't see the Gov. posting people's SS# out in the open for just anyone to use.

Again, just my take on it, but it smacks of identity theft, and you would think that the DOT would have some way of deterring this practice.

    JMHO.

To reduce telemarketing calls, register your number at DoNotCall (dot) gov.
It won't eliminate them completely, but it will reduce them.
