I have a Caterpillar C14 powered 08 KW the DPF light came on and I tried a regen but when that failed the truck went into limp mode I am curious if there is a fix or temporary way around limp mode I replaced the DPF but the ECM still has the fault code that makes it shut down every 60 seconds

Mine was the ground going to the battery from the ecm. I spent thousands at Peterbilt and it kept happening. I would get out unplugged the ground plug it back and it fired up. I’m cutting out the plug and running the wire straight to the negative terminal. I think it’s going to work.

What about the wiring, or any wiring on the OEM side causing a chugging.
Seems that my biggest problem of a bad injector was fixed when CAT ( under warranty couldn't find which injector was bad so they changed all 6 on my 6NZ C-15. But I still have a small stumbling or chugging a few times a day that when I move wires around a bit on top the batteries I can get it to either stop or change somewhat . I put a new wire directly to the ECM from batteries of the same guage but still a issue exists. Shaking wires does nothing as it's only under load this occurs .
Anybody have any ideas ? Batteries are 9 months new. Fuse inside frame rail beside left steer tire has been cleaned on my '03 , 379 Pete.

HELP!!!!!!!! I have a 05 WESTERN STAR 4900 with a 14L Detroit 60 series that cranks but won’t fire. I noticed the dash doesn’t sweep when I turn the key on so I took the ECU off and got it tested and everything came back fine. So I called the dealer and they told me to check for a fuse that runs from the battery box but there isn’t one or I’m not looking in the right place if anyone knows where the fuse is please post a picture for me or give me some advice......

ECM's normally have a minimum of 3 power ( + ) supply wires to it.
Example: Peterbilt 379, CAT engine, one wire with positive power to ECM comes from inside the left frame rail beside the left steer tire where a 140 amp circuit breaker is located. A 2nd such wire stems from the ignition ( key switch) and 2 more wires supply positive power to the ECM via direct connection to the batteries, with fusible links.
Having said that, look up your ECM schematics to find the power supplies.
Check one by one, your best bet.

Hello could you update me with what you did to fix your problem ? I have a f-650 with a c7 and every once in a while I loose my wait to start and service engine soon light and get a crank but no start. I replaced the fuse holders and still happens but is I unplug and plug the ground fuse back in bang lights come on and truck fires.
Oddly enough if it acts up it always 1 time first thing and morning the won’t happen for weeks.
Driving me nuts . Thanks in advance for any help!
