If I had a train line that ran near me I would. We have docks and rails around I just stay in my little area for now. Does it pay better or similar to OTR driving?

$1000 gross for M-F, weekend work is another $200/day. Weekends are volunteer unless they do not get enough volunteers then drivers are assigned.

Home every night compared to 25 days out per month? Heck YA!

Officially that's true HOWEVER many plants ( not required under TSA ) require the TWIC to enter. It's another layer of security...... since you can buy a DL at the local flea market and they have no way to verify it.

Funny part is most (98% ) only view the card...which can easily be duplicated just like a DL. Only one of my customers has the actual reader that verifies the chip.......heck the port don't even have the readers.

I thought I read somewhere that Intermodal is similar to LTL. Was I wrong? According to this link, http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckerreport.html, LTL makes the most money. Maybe I am not understanding terms. Please advise.
