This is an older thread. I have commented many times on the faults codes being displayed in the LCD display on other threads. On the International LCD display, the fault information is not in the form of fault codes. They are actually fault messages. Messages and codes are two completely different things. The numbers are not fault codes. The 128 is the address for the engine and the 136 is for the ABS module. The 129, 004, and 015 are only messages that mean nothing to you and me. Sometimes they are the same as the fault code, and some times they are not. International does not recommend any trouble shooting with this information as it will likely lead you up the wrong tree. International did not design the LCD display to be a diagnostic tool. Only the proper service tool should be used and trouble shooting take place only when there is a CHECK, WARN, or ABS light on in the dash. I have a couple of lists of CAT codes, and there isn't even a 129 listed! If you have a Bendix ABS system, there is no SID 15 either. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. If you do have any warning lights on, I recommend to get them checked out by a proper scan tool.

Heavyd: is there a scan tool I can buy to read and clear codes from the body controller on my 09 Prostar like you mentioned above? I have Cummins Insite to take care of engine ECM issues. But every time I have a body controller code come up I have to stop at a dealership so they can plug-in Diamond Logic. Right now I keep getting an error code related to my ABS. I don't know what the error code is because I don't have any way to read it. But on my instrument cluster my amber triangle is solid and it reads "ABS Module*" and "TRAC CTRL". These will go off by themselves after a few days whenever I start rolling from a parked position. They were turning on whenever I would turn my lights on. I did have a brake light with a short in it but I had that fixed. I don't know for sure if they're related but I know the error messages on the dash came on as soon as I turned my lights on. It did that twice. That's a very big coincidence if it's not related. After having the short fixed the error messages on the dash went out and stayed off for a little while today then they came back on again. My lights were already on all day because of rain. So this time the error message just popped up for no reason just driving down the road. I need a way to read these codes. You have any idea what this might be and also do you recommend a code reader that will work with my truck?

I don't know of a scan tool for body controllers. As for the ABS, Bendix does make a simple little scan tool for ABS codes and the ability to clear them.
Check this out;

The tool you want is Part# K101596. This tool is 9 pin, so it plugs directly into the diagnostic port. Bendix diagnostic software is called Acom. No sure if there is a price for it or not. They don't have a direct download unless you fill in all your information at this page first. Not sure how that works. If you already have a computer and data cable I would look into Acom first. This is what we use and what ever data cable you use for Insite should work just fine with Acom.

The most common fault for Prostars and ABS is the right front sensor shorted. The wiring rubs through inside the harness that runs along the front of the truck. It will short out mostly when wet. Once it dries out the fault is gone. We just run a new twisted pair right over to the sensor from the firewall connector.texasmorrell and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this. -
