I've been driving a few years now and have started looking at getting my own truck. I've been trying to find out how good the fuel milage really is on the Lonestars. The company I drive for hauls dedicated dry van and I pretty much just run TX, AR, TN and KY. I'm driving a 14 Cascadia 455hp 3.31gear now and average 8.6 on nights I don't idle the truck, somewhere in the 7's when i idle. I doubt a Lonestar would get that good but the only guy I've talked to driving one said he was getting 7.9 as we were running together through AR the other day with about the same weight.

I'd like to know what other drivers are getting with the Lonestars pulling a box with 20k or less on flat ground, condo bunk or mid roof, idle or not... I guess gear and trans would be interesting info to have too

i would go with a used truck for first truck. Where im leased to a lot of people are coming on with these trucks and the payments on those trucks range from 500-700 a week. You could go to arrow truck sales/ Long mount ion and get a used truck with 500k miles on em for 1500 a month.. I don't know how drivers can aford to go home with a weekly payment on truck and then if u have to buy a lease trailer so you will be paying out the butt. These new trucks are not the best. You get all kindas of DPF problems and they are hit and miss. You could get 40k miles on a new truck and break down for a week due to DPF.

I thought you could only get PT Cruisers oops I mean Lonestars with the maxxforce? Wouldn't that be a deal breaker. I mean those motors are only slightly more reliable than Pittsburg power signature engines.

No they've been putting Cummins engines in them for a few years now... 2012 or 13 I think. That's when pretty much all post in the forums died out
