99% of the time, the problem is wiring. If you change a part and have the same problem, time to run new wires.

 

How many miles, idle percentage, and is it Diamond Renewed? The problem with Maxxforce is the high flow of exhaust gas back into the motor, that’s how they got around SCR. As a result the EGR system is prone to clogging, sensors continually fouled by soot, and engine internals get sludge. If it has a lot of idle tome I’d get the EGR circuit cleaned and idle as little as possible, run a good oil that has high soot load, and install an oil bypass.

 

Replace the alternator. The same thing happened to me. I had a loose battery connection that lead to alternator failure. After replacing alternator everything went back to normal. Keep in mind the alternator controls the abs, and the abs controls traction control, so if the alternator is going bad those two sensors will flash in your dash. After a while, the service engine light will also come on. don't continue to drive with a bad alternator. It will fry all your electronics.

 

I'm getting ready to buy a truck, and I found a good deal on a prostar. I think itll get me a good start and make some money to buy a better truck. Thoughts? Here's the info on it

I can testify to the MaxForce being a shop Queen. I have 12 yrs experience driving several different ones....The EGR cooler and turbo baffle tubes failures often....I would run away from a MaxForce....
