I am not sure if there's a contender to verizon's internet service, however i posted a thread to find an answer to that question... -

The signal is good, but the internet just craaawwwls.
Either way, don't bother with the wifi at Pilot OR Loves, just get a Verizon card. -
When my wife first got her computer we tried the Pilot WiFi, butt she was on the phone constantly with their tech support, so we cancelled it. (They put the refund back on the card about a week after we requested it.) We have Alltel cellphones, and got their service. The little plastic thingamajig was free (after rebate), and it's $60 a month. My wife doesn't drive, and can use the internet from everywhere, while rolling down the road. Only a couple times did we have trouble connecting (mostly in Wyoming), but that was only temporary (about 5-10 minutes). She loves it. (I still don't understand the dang thing!)

simplyred1962 Betty Boop, One Bodacious Babe!!!
Usually, I have no problem with connectivity, even while hubby is driving down the road. I can play games on my game sites, visit herebiggrin_25525
, etc.and the only problem I encounter is watching TV, or movies from the internet, because of jumping from tower-to-tower.
EXCEPT, when we are in Wyoming...Sprint has virtually NO coverage throughout the entire state!
Also, occasionally, I will connect to Idleaire, if we have to sit for a time, through their ethernet connection.
Hope this helps!

What plan do you have? 3g?
Has the "off network" restriction (300mb) been a problem?
Is the 5GB/mo enough?
Does anyone know about using your phone connected to the PC for internet access?Last edited: Jun 28, 2009

I totally agree with DblTime... Wandering Wi-Fi does suck. Their tech people are very helpful, but my wife still had problems connecting at the Madera, CA Pilot and several others in the Western States, where we primarily run. Salt Lake City is good, but all in all it was just a big cluster-you-know-what. We got a refund (very prompt) after only having it for a couple weeks. Alltel/Verizon is very dependable.

I haven't heard anything about any off network restrictions. It's not on any of my paperwork and I think I would have hit it by now if there was one.
