DSL at home. Looking into WiFI for a laptop while driving. Apparently Verizon has some fair deals on mobile broadband services. Theres coverage areas of course its not like satellite but its a heck of a lot cheaper and hits most of the major cities / towns anyway.

Don't hold your breath Ratt. BPL has many problems that will have to be dealt with before it is released to everybody. There is a huge fight going on right now. http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/HTML/plc/

In reading the link you provided (thanx for the info by the way) I see that there are 2 different ways of delivering it. 1 which affects hf and 1 that does not. Lets hope cooler heads prevail and we can have our cake and eat it too.

Do the truck stops use Wireless G or Wireless B? If I had to answer it would be B.

Anything is faster then Dial Up! I have cable. :D

I am using a cell phone I had picked up @ Sprint. It serves as modem to my laptop and it puts me online vitually anywhere for a price cheaper than the network cards. I drive all 48 and often overnite @ odd places so
for my purposes and budget this modem is fine. Cost is $39 mo for service, unlimited, phone included. Seems quick enough for me too. Downloading music and movies take some time
