    Pfft.

    All I know is:

    1. The tech support number I called was in the literature that came with the air card in the packaging:

    2. All I got all weekend was a prerecorded "call back during business hours" message when I called the tech support number that was given in the modem's packaging, and

    3. That same number is the one where I finally reached data tech support on Monday.

That was/is enough for me to conclude that AT&T has no tech support on weekends for their air card. At the very least they didn't have tech support at that number on that weekend. The conclusion I reached is not unreasonable.

Hmmmmmm.. Wonder if it's a regional thing? There are three data support centers (Austin, Lafayette, and Orlando). I know Austin is open on Saturdays.. Usually all calls are routed to Austin when the other centers are down.

Their tech support was one of the reasons I left there. I got tired of stopping for the day, having phone signal, but the air card would not work because it was in a partner area.

Switched to Verizon. When I leave the next time, AT&T air card will meet and try to lift the truck tire.

Don't know. I'm unfamiliar with the Verizon products.

Roadmedic, partner service is guaranteed for phone signal only. Unfortunately, data coverage doesn't necessarily carry over into partner areas. And as far as I know, that's true with all cell companies.

I know that now. But when they sold the package, they told me wherever I have phone service, I will be able to use the air card. It is a real pain the rear to park for the night and find no signal available or roaming not allowed. I have called them and they said "service is only 15 miles up the road." It is the reason I was able to void the contract in under 6 months.

I have been with people who have verizon and they have never heard of such problems.

Yeah..... One of the beefs I had working support. Sales folks are generally clueless when it comes to the products they sell. Or they'll just outright lie... Made my job a LOT more difficult.

    I use Sprint. I haven't had a problem yet getting a signal.

I looked into that and one of my friends has had some problems with the areas we travel in.

We don't travel alot of the major interstate roads. It is where the problems occur.
