Pretty much the same means they are different. A closer look reveals they are different. A cursory glance shows similar loads.
By contractual agreement with many brokerages DAT gets the loads several minutes before ITS or anyone else does. I have seen it with screens of both ITS Pro and DAT Power on the same computer. For anyone who is constantly calling and soliciting brokers for loads seeing the load a minute or two sooner could be the difference between booking it or being told it's covered when you call on it.
I see guys complain about calling on loads and they're always gone. Usually on lower tiered versions of DAT or ITS or whatever. You get what you pay for. In a down market you need any and every edge you can get.blade Thanks this. -
I've been approached in the past with offers to lease on with others. Usually after some research its not always what they claimed.
Example,..Company 'B' who is sub-brokering for a larger broker/carrier 'A' gave me their song and dance. They made it sound like their direct freight was theirs and they had control of everything. Everything sounded great. It wasnt until I was required to fill out an application with Carrier 'A' that I questioned why I needed Company 'B' , when I could just run through Carrier 'A'. The deal breaker was E-logs and lack of freedom to run loads from other sources with out a serious financial penalty. Else I would have signed on.

This is true, cause that last company I was leased onto, you typically had 30 to 45 seconds to make a decision, and then it was gone.

That's unacceptable in Business. It's gambling if you ask me.

Yet the loads posted are average of $1.34/mile for flatbeds, reefers, or dry freight.Lepton1 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

DAT is a joke as far as technology goes. It's so far from "cutting edge" that it makes me laugh. ITS is a bit better on the technology side, but as far as getting loads... good luck. The only ones that usually aren't taken when you call are $1.20/mile or lower. I had ITS Pro and it's not any better than the middle package with credit checks. I had DAT TruckersEdge and it was poorly thrown together, but had a larger assortment of loads. I moved to DAT three sixty (I believe it's called something else now) and it's the best one I've used so far. Useful information and more loads that when I call they're not already taken. I've actually gotten in touch with a few shippers via it as well. I'm starting to dislike ITS especially with such a price tag and useless features.

DAT Power is worlds away from Truckersedge and 360 and way better than ITS basic or Pro.
What kind of typical rates are you guys expecting out of ANY load board? We're talking about excess spot loads right? You act as if it is surprising that $1.34 loads get offered or $1.20 is the norm in some areas.whoopNride Thanks this. -
I'm just stating that if you need 1.50/mile or higher good luck using ITS. Any load above that is usually "already taken" by the time you see it, even with a pro subscription. I'm saying the money for the subscription isn't worth it.

That's because many loads post on the more expensive DAT board first then they filter out to 360, truckersedge, and ITS. Also it might be you're in some really bad areas too. I got tired of looking at old loads that were already covered on the lower tiered DAT boards. And got really tired of ITS going down several times a week. And that wasn't just me I would check with others who had it and it would be down with them too.
