Satellite internet is high latency internet. About the only people that use satellite internet are people in very rural areas. They are not gaming via satellite they are surfing and maybe watching video that takes a while to load.

Reading around there were some drivers using Cricket/ATT devices in hotspots to game but gaming can use HUGE amounts of data and these days it's very hard to find real unlimited data. Unlimited and wireless usually means 20GB and then they may either slows your date speeds or end your data.

I disagree with this partially, what if you're on a 34 hour reset? Sometimes I gotta wait 16 hours to pick up a load, am I supposed to do nothing during that time? If you're anything like me 22 years old I only sleep 4-5 hours a night tops. Gotta kill time somehow.

I recently ran into that problem when I had a loaner truck in which the inverter was not working. I had to get a 12V plug-in unit as a substitute.
I have an Asus ROG laptop.

It could not provide the power to run the laptop as well as charge it at the same time.
I had to have a fully charged battery before turning it on, and then it did fine.

My codriver likes to play his Xbox and will sometime play Rainbow Six: Siege. I rarely hear him whine about latency, just when we are in Idaho or places like that. Siege is a crazy fast paced game, a lot of stuff happening in fractions of a second sometime. Sometimes Ill just show a couple little pixles of my target box around the corner and I'm instantly shot by some kid all doped up on energy drinks.

All that data is being sent through his wireless access point he has through ATT and it seems to work fine. What gets him is the opti-idle cutting the engine off and on.

My inverter would just beep at me and shut down completely. But it keeps my partners Xbox running just fine. Those gaming laptops run really hot!

I just leave it at home. While on the road I got my tablet. Games on tablets are pretty good now too. I trained a guy that played PUBG on his tablet. Thats a bit too much for me. Too reliant on keyboards and mice. All that screen clicking is awkward.

I got Netflix and Amazon Prime always something to watch. Deadwood is really good, Hell on Wheels too. Id never have taken the time at home.

As an owner of ASUS ROG myself (coreI7 , nvidia 970M) all you need is 300- 400w inventer from almost any truck stop and it will runs fine, but keep your engine on to prevent battery discharge.

Does nobody take their 34 off at truckstops anymore, socialize with other drivers, mess with their truck (clean and polish) grill some steaks or anything like that anymore. It sounds like many just sit in their trucks, surely not a guy would go stir crazy.

Because I don't need to hear poorly told trucker stories.

Because I don't want to listen to drivers pontificate on topics they don't understand.

Because fiber glass doesn't polish and you need a laptop to tinker with these trucks.

Because I want to hear the dialog to NCIS, not the guy giving his wife the play by play over the phone.

Deadwood is epic but the new HBO movie is disapoint. If you like Deadwood, Rome is good too. Another hidden gem is Jericho on netflix. Sorry to just jump in but anyone who appreciates Deadwood is OK by me.

There's so much on steam. Any youngsters who want to participate in some old school gaming that is timeless should try Age of empires/AOK.. and Starcraft. OMG starcraft.. not on steam but still one of the most played games in South Korea, was their national pasttime for a decade. worked well on dial up back in the day so latency is hardly an issue, and they really exercise the brain cells.
