You need a phone, even in training. Find a way to pay the bill or beg for an extended grace period if you can borrow a few dollars to pay on it. You may have some sort of emergency situation with your trainer and you'll need a way to communicate rather then be completely isolated.

If it's that tight, don't plan for forever now, save that for later. Get a pre-paid phone so you can have a contact point.

Here's the thing. You're broke. Ok, sucks, but it's the way it is. You know you can't afford to keep going the way you are, so change it. If money's that tight why are you worried about unlimited data plans and such now? Get something you can currently afford to keep up, so you're not left without any type of communication. Then, once you're getting paid, look into long term options.

There are times when long term thinking makes the most sense. And there are times when short term thinking makes more sense. Getting a contract with a phone company for an expensive unlimited plan right now isn't a short term idea. Wait. Be patient. When you can afford it, you'll be much happier because you will have the ability to shop around instead of just accepting the cheapest option now.

I understand but there is no grace period. If its not paid then the phones are deactivated. Thankfully my uncle is covering it this month but next i don't know

Verizon's new unlimited is definitely worth it over T-Mobiles as a driver in my opinion.

T-Mobile supposedly comes in at 70 bucks even with taxes and fees included.

    Verizon plan breaks down as:
    $65 unlimited plan
    $20 line access fee
    $2.09 Verizon surcharge fees
    $2.05 taxes
    - $5 w/ autopay
    Total: $84.14

$14 more for 10gb hotspot access and undoubtedly better coverage. (does T-Mobile allow tethering on their unlimited plan yet? They didn't when I looked at it)

Hopefully that helps. I know pricing these cable, phone, and internet companies can be a trick with all the hidden fees. Obviously that's just the plan if you have a device payment that'll add to it.

That $84.14 would be more like $100 or better in utah. Depending on where you live, there's other taxes.

I think all phones come with a hotspot app now. One of the features built into the android operating system. If it's not carrier provided.

Verizon has their unlimited plan now. BUT, it's only 22 gigs. After that you roll the dice on wether you get service and how fast you'll get. Least, that's the way i understood it on the cnbc article. I'm not sure on how much hotspot is allowed though.

Sprint has unlimited. My bill is $81 after taxes but only allows for 5gigs hotspot.

Have no idea on att or tmo. And unless your a owner operator. I would get a hotspot device. You're spending a lot more money for limited services then what the phone costs that can already act as a hotspot device.

All 4 carriers have expanded on their coverage. But you're going to need a newer phone. So don't try to buy some 2 year or older model phone. My verizon s6 got way better coverage then my note2. The sprint phone i have now has better coverage then my sprint note2.

I have a good phone. Right now were rolling the dice on whether or not my sister can pay her half. The total bill is 320 or 80 a piece. Problem is my sister and brother in law can't hold up their end of the bargain. If i was to get on the road and all of a sudden she couldn't pay it i better have the 200 dollars dang near to cover her but otherwise all 4 of us lose our phone. It sucks but its the way the next program works. I told my brother not to add them because I know how they are. Right now I've got everything squared away except for staying connected while on the road. Unfortunately my sister is a question mark every month on whether or not she has the money

Either pay their portion or give them the boot. They're not keep up on their end and your paying their portion anyways. So i'd just plan on spending $160 every month and not $80.

My verizon phone bill for me ALONE was $175.

Switch to straight talk until you can afford Verizon or wherever. I personally love straight talk. 10!gigs a month unlimited everything else for $60 a month.
