Psycho, thanks for the heads up. My buddy works there, got a nice gig home weekly in Memphis. He said that things are rapidly changing. The new CEO Rogers is cleaning house in operations. The old leaders are gone from what he says. He just got a new truck and a new pay package. In talking to him, he is happy and says his miles have been consistently going up. He got a call last week about parking, he does not have to park at the yard anymore, can take truck home under load. In reading the posts, sounds like Rogers is fixing stuff.

First time I looked at the Interstate website in a while and it looks like they are still not hiring out of Denver or Cheyenne. They were my number one choice back when I was ready to move on from Butler but if they are not hiring in my area, not much I can do. Besides, Houg has been great so far.

I've got an offer to go to Interstate on their regional out of Lebanon,Tn. Everything sounds good, but they are my backup as I am looking for a smaller outfit.

I tried to get back on with Interstate in '09 after taking leave for a few months, but because of the economy they wouldn't rehire anyone gone more than 45 days. I went back to school for a while, then found Gardner Trucking was willing to hire drivers who'd been out of trucking for a while without the need for retraining. Been with Gardner since, but I'm fed up with old power units and the never-ending promise of a new truck. I see that Interstate is finally replacing their power units, so I've put my app in and gotten approved, even though I only had 8 months recent experience.
They wanted me in orientation tomorrow! I told them I wanted to give my company two weeks notice, so it'll be mid-August when I go. From what I'm reading here, it sounds like things are getting better at Interstate. It was a really good company when I first joined them in '05. I hope it's just as good when I start. -
