Hi there. I just wanted to update you on what I have been doing with my training for IDC. I attended orientation on Monday.. spent most of the day doing paperwork. There were a few of us who were sent to Troutdale, OR to attend our local training and some were left in Tacoma. To say the very least, I am thrilled with the training I am getting so far. The three of us that are here in Troutdale were each assigned to our own trainer, so we are getting tons of drive time. From what I understand, the trainees in Tacoma have more than one trainee per trainer so I am very happy that I am in Troutdale. The other people here are actually a couple that are going to team. Their initial training here is with individual trainers for the week, but they already have been assigned their team trainer and will start with him sometime after friday. My husband will be here tomorrow and with him is my first load! Granted its not a lot of miles yet, but hey.. its a load!

Anyways.. just wondering if you two had made any type of decision on which company to go with.

Hey!, thanks for the update.. We are still going with IDC. After all the research we have done over the last 6 months.. IDC seems the best for us to start with, atleast..

Train togather, .41cpm to start, good tractors, practical miles..

Those mean alot to me!! and my wife!!

We have some loose ends we will tie up around the house and then some money to save for when we are in Mesalands without pay, before heading off to try our luck in trucking..

So we are figuring around Nov/Dec.. when we head to Mesalands to start the school.. as by then we will have around 7k saved for school unpaid time.. and emergency stuff, aswell as be living in a small 1bd apt for 320 a month.. so we can save more on the road for our future!

Anyway keep me posted i love to hear more!!!

Hello, I've been reading this message board and read you and your husband were in driving training for IDS. The messages are dated from last year, so I'm wondering how you and your husband like driving as a team for IDS now that you have some time under your belt?

My wife and I are thinking of attending a 3rd party truck driving school then joining IDS as Team drivers. We are changing careers and looking at truck driving. Thanks for sharing your experinces.

I've been with IDC now for 4 months wat I've seen so far is they atke care of their teams and solo's get the left over. They tell me it is slow right now. I've had to wait up to 5 hrs for a ld. Some drivers I've heard are wating all day. Trucks are nice. Free showers and terminals are a plus. Being my 1st company I have nothing to compare it to. I'll do my year and then look at my options.
