Very, very good point. I took jobs with other companies that "paid more". I didn't get the miles and ended up making less. And benefits mean a lot!

RE: Interstate. What are the miles like? I know it's a decent company, but are the reefer miles consistent? I'd have to get used to only do western, I've been basically doing the 48 my whole career.

"I've never worked at either"
You could have stopped right there. -
I've been at Interstate for a couple years now running on the Reefer board. I usually stay out 4 weeks and get 2800 miles per week. Miles dropped a bit in Jan/Feb but things are back to normal now. Good equipment for the most part. Had some issue with my fridge but the dealer replaced it. The pay isn't the greatest, but the benefits are good and I don't sit waiting for my next load. I've got a buddy that runs on the Canadian board which is dry freight but he makes more than me with the border crossing pay that he gets.

We've just decided that we're moving to Dallas and going back OTR. It's between my old company and Interstate. Do they only do regional out of Dallas, or do they have 48 state? If it's just regional, how are the miles?
-
They had a driver conference call and they said we are offering drivers the ability to run 48.
Trucail Thanks this. -
Any info on students? My wife is going to get her CDL, but the recruiter said I need to be an employee for 6 months before I can train her. I've been a trainer before, and she listens to me, so it wont be hard. I'm just not looking forward to her not have the income for 6 months. Wish there was a way around that.

I think its only 3 months to become a trainer now.
Trucail Thanks this.
