Hi,
I'm planning on getting my CDL and am interested in Interstate in Tacoma, WA. They seem like a decent outfit, however I am wondering if they hire/train new drivers (IE drivers w/out experience)?
Also, I have heard that some Washington based trucking companies will not higher new drivers out of Washington State. Does anyone know if this is the case w/Interstate (assuming they take newbies at all)?

Last time I check ( 6 mo ago) Interstate was not taking trainees.
The WA state thing was an overtime issue (not paying 1.5x after 40 hrs). I've never had a problem with it.

According to their website you need a year otr.

I'm an Interstate driver, and I can confirm they won't look at you with less than 1 yr experience. Even team operation.
wulfman75 Thanks this.
