I unload my own trailer. I’ve got a electric pallet jack but they die sometimes and the pallets are heavy. When they die you’ve got to use a manual one. The more stores you deliver the more you make. But I’m getting older climbing in and out of the truck for 8 stores a day and pulling frieght off the top of tall pallets is getting old. Real hot in the summer cold and wet in the winter.
-
How many stores and miles. I’m only gone 1 night a week . But I unload my own trailer at the stores 8 stores a day .they told me I’d be 5-2 up a Shelby nc. I’m just looking for something a little easier on the body. Thanks

Physically it will be the easiest job in trucking that you can get. They only want you to drive the truck, no unloading, Hardest part will be swapping out your belongings from your vehicle to truck and back at end of work week.
Being at a gm DC you will normally be out all week then return on your 5th day to go home. Guessing you'll more than likely be a Thursday out, work Thursday- monday and have Tuesday Wednesday off.
Miles vary, shorter distances between stores, but you'll get activity pay for arriving AD, HK hooking, LL live load, LU unload, UT unscheduled time hourly rate for downtime, loading/uploading after 45minutes etc. Its not just about miles, you get paid for everything.
Its gonna be what you value most, being home, or having a easy job but living in a truck all week.flowlow98 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info . 2 more questions, how strict on the phone policy. And do they have driver facing cameras . I have heard conflicting advice on those 2 things.
-
you had me at unloading the trailer.
-
100% on phone policy. No more than 10min at a time, maximum of 60 minutes total per day on drive line. Supposedly forward facing only, even though dash mounted camera has both, driver facing not active. And peoplenet camera, even though its supposedly not a camera
flowlow98 Thanks this. -
6 10min phone calls during your total drive shift. no texting while driving. you can talk, text all you want not driving. also those 6 calls i thank cant be in roush hour traffic, bad weather, or work zone. very easy to go over the 10min call.flowlow98 Thanks this.

Lol, it gets tough.

Were I work now has a no phone policy. But we all talk any way.
