    Hello all,

I have a quick question about intrastate license plates — I am buying a truck in one week and will be driving it from AR to Wisconsin. I know it’s legal to drive between states with no plates on a newly purchased truck, however, I need to know how to register the truck in my state and get the plates. It will be intrastate, no IFTA or Apportioned license. I used to driver interstate and remember doing all sorts of applications and paying fees to apply for the plates, this time however I am lost on how to apply for the plates and register the truck. Do I just go to any DMV and get the plates and registration right away since I will only be operating in one state? Please help if you have any info on that. I tried to call DMV and explained what my question was but hey still sent me a packet for interstate trucking.

Your state should have a web page with details on how to send in for it but your insur. must be on before they will give a state dot #, GA cost is 25$ every year.
