Yes, MI does require intrastate authority.
MSP - Regulatory & Credentialing Sectionbrian991219 Thanks this. -
12. INTRASTATE REGISTRATION FOR AN INTERSTATE OPERATION IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE UCR AGREEMENT
(a) Once the registrant has complied with the filing requirements and payment of the UCR fees, the State may not require any additional payment of motor vehicle fees or issue any credentials for operations within or through the State for an annual intrastate renewal. Exception. This paragraph does not apply to intrastate transportation of waste and recyclable materials by any carrier; intrastate transportation by motor carriers of household goods, non-consensual tows; or passengers by non-charter bus.
(b) The registrant must comply with any initial application filing, filing proof of insurance, tariff or reporting filing in effect by State law or agency rule. Any fee associated with these processes may also be charged.
(c) No annual renewal of intrastate authority or other annual filing (including proof of insurance) may be required of a compliant UCR registrant.
Now according to 12c I may not have to comply with the renewal process if I have a Interstate Authority and my UCR has beeen renewed.
What da think...maybe do-able? -
Sorry here is the link for the UCRA

Thanks for posting that link. I guess I would call Lansing to make sure.
I got my carrier a ticket for it a couple of years ago. Long story short, we had MI intra auth but the officer said he couldn't find it on his computer (I didn't have paperwork in the truck proving otherwise) so he wrote my carrier a ticket.redvonbaron Thanks this. -

So, I called Lansing today and a Lady in MSP - Regulatory & Credentialing Section told me that as long as I am a common carrier and not a household goods carrier I only have to register once
Which I did in 2017.
And she said that I also have to maintain an up to date UCR filing.
Which I do.
And this is an annual thing. She also told me that their computer systems where going through an upgrade and the system sent out some bogus letters.
Which I got one.
So it looks like for now I'm in the clear. Just gotta keep giving IN.gov some money every year.
As usually. SOP.Well, chalk it up for "The cost of doing business"

Texas intrastate must have changed since I had it.
I paid $225.00 a year, the amount might be wrong. I do remember paying every year for several years. Several years back.
