been driving intrastate for over 3 years now and have made it so far with the cut throat rates here in Indiana. My question is I got hooked up with a guy hauling equipment who wants me to cross state lines just a little and he can keep me busy making stupid money. I was told I wouldn’t go more than an hour over each line, taking all state roads and avoiding chicken coops. Would it be stupid to do it? I wouldn’t be doing it every day all year. Just here and there. Hence why I’m asking and not just getting interstate authority

If your going to be making stupid money you could afford interstate authority. Then youd have nothing to worry about. I know here in Kentucky dot lives to set by bridge coming from Indiana. Bam he gotcha.
Ruthless Thanks this. -
Let’s say it’s a beautifully clear sunny summer day and your just sitting at a 4 way stop minding your own business. Then comes along Mr drunk person and crashes into the back of your rig.You will lose everything and go to jail.Because this accident would not have occurred if you wasn’t there.

Thanks for the info. Being 22 means insurance does not want you in anything larger than a civic, so I may just try to find more stuff in state

The same guy offered to lease me on and run under his info. Said I can still use my truck on the farm (whole reason I’m trucking. To payoff trucks for farming). I’ve never leased on to anyone before. Is there anything I should watch out for before committing? Or any downside to it?

I thought farm trucks were not allowed to be lease under other authorities by law.

My truck is commercially plated. Just in state only. As in I do not have IRP plates. Much cheaper
