introduction and question

howdy, my name is Gabe i found this forum searching CRST and bad experiences. i was with werner for 4 months (training included), then i had a kidney stone, got rescued by family and was on medical leave. i stayed out a little too long and they decided not to hire me back, now they're ready to hire me back but i can't afford to get another check up to get the medical release signed that i already faxed to them.. so i thought hey, this fancy company crst hires newbies like me...

nothing is really set in stone however, i have a confirmation code for a bus ticket but before i pull the trigger.... is it worth getting on a grayhound for 36 hours to give crst a try or should i look elsewhere? and if i should look elsewhere i'd appreciate a suggestion, keep in mind, i have diddley for experience, job searches on craigslist have only discouraged and depressed me. not thrilled at the idea of team driving but i managed while training with werner.

by the way, my experience with werner as a company? besides the recent medical release fiasco, good overall, i had a great trainer (although he was an old black fellow from memphis so i had trouble understanding his accent at times) awesome fleet manager, don't know if i'm allowed to drop names so i'll refrain. however, if i had to be rescued from a greater distance my opinion would probably be different, i guess i was "lucky" to have my kidney stone a few miles north of atlanta and i live around 25 miles north of tampa, fl.

not to sound picky but swift doesn't sound like a terribly good option from what i've read. and a 1 hour bus ride implies that they have a terminal in florida just like werner and i still had to go to their atlanta terminal, that 12 hour bus ride left me cramped head to toe and exhausted.

full service terminal means they do orientation and all that malarkey there right?

 

sweet then forget the bus, i might be able to borrow a car to go to and from so i won't have to stay at a roach motel.
