he o/p stated this in his first posting...

Not being an expert, but to me, this suggests that his medical card is not good even though he has a new on, and most likely DID NOT self certify at his local DMV like we are all supposed to do.

Now I made mention in my past posting, that it IS possible that the clinic, doctor's office, or whomever was supposed to fax that over to the DMV, in fact, I was told, that after our DOT exam if we pass, this is the procedure. HOWEVER, and I can assure many here, MY state is so laxing in getting their shyte together for anything CDL required. The CDL was supposed to be online, ready to go, and issued to all drivers as of April 1992..???

I got mine in JUNE..!!''Why, because ny state still was NOT READY..!

mine had to be FedEx'd overnight to Ohio at a job I was at, and I had gotten there in May of that year. The company allowed me to drive as they knew as well as any DOT would have know, that MANY states were so far behind in getting this all done ON TIME, yet wasn't there like nearly 2 years start date announced, and no one still had their shyte together (on the state level)..???

So as a result, to his state, his CDL is "invalid" (or down graded) , not suspended, as he can still drive his car, pick up truck, or motorbike.

Iowa DOT allowed drivers to print the form and fill it out a FAX it back. I got a 90 day alert, then a 15 day warning. Since I was retired I did nothing. Next letter said my license was downgraded to Class D,,,regular drivers license valid till the expiration date shown.

I would guess this is the source of your problems. You may need to retake all tests and a road test to get your Class A.
Gotta stay up with the changes..if you wish to maintain your A card. Good luck.

I'm just curious what made you check with this CHECKR.com site? Who did the background check?

Yeah each state is again different on that as well. Some as long as you get a new DOT card and self certify, you get your CDL privileges back again. Some you go through everything again.(cannot swear to it, but I think someone from Nebraska?? told me they only have to get a new physical and self certify)

If it were me and this close to retirement (like I always say), they can keep it, I'm done, which frankly I may just do that. As my CDL expires in 4 more years..!!

Yes in my state you have to self certify you can do it on-line in my case. Check your states DMV website and see if there is an on-line self certification cue that you can access enter your info in there and it updates your med card to your CDL

Just the other day I went onto the Wisconsin DOT website and there is a spot where you can check the status of your license, maybe your state offers the same thing?
