    What he said but if there is NOT a fuse on that cable going to the inverter, then that's a problem.

    As for the cable wires use welding cables. They work great, very easy to install.

    For a 2500w inverter, 3/0 wiring is about as small as I'd go. Handles more amperage without melting and there's less loss between batteries and inverter.
