Didn't mean for my tone to come off bad, I just get upset when drivers are handed the keys to a new truck and aren't properly trained on them like tnscavenger wasn't properly trained, or he would have known it is 1500 watt.

The OSR did show me the inverter, and it was a shock, as I was unware of it. He may have said the wattage, but I don't recall. Nonetheless, I believe my AMT training was good.Last edited: Mar 5, 2016

Were you given the handout on the inverter which includes the policy on what can and cannot be plugged into it, along with all the info on the inverter itself?
Just curious (not trying to bust balls) how long did your AMT training take? -
I did not get a handout about the inverter itself. I think the OSR did tell me it was rated 1500w, but when I saw model #1200 I assumed it was 1200w. I looked for a user manual in the bag w/ truck, engine, and warrenty owner manuals but did not find.
The AMT training lasted about 4 1/2 hours. It was me and another driver. It consisted of classroom videos about the transmission and Intelligent Powertrain Management. (IPM) We got three handouts about all of this. Then we went out to the truck where the instuctor showed me some of the new features of this series of company trucks. Then we grabed an empty, and took a short drive. Not unlike the annual qualification we do. -
They have a 2hour limit. After two hours cut off for 8 hours. Installed on trucks built dec 2015. 1200 watt 1500 peak.

Is this still holding true ? I start my orientation in Dallas on the 27th.

Yes, all new tractors have them.
NOTE: This doesn't mean the tractor you get assigned will have one, as you might not get a newer tractor upon hire.SingingWolf Thanks this. -
2hrs limit, So basically it's useless lol
-
Thanks, I guess at least I could cook something but would have to do with my laptop to watch anything
but I'm hoping to not have mutch time for that. One guy said Regional out of Dallas is within 500 mile radius but the recruiter said 1,000 so I guess I will see.

Trucks built after April 2016 have 1800 watt inverters. Mine was built in April so I have the 1500 but there is no time limit on it as long as you don't run your batteries down to critical limit. Which is hard to do in a 10 hour break if you are only using a laptop. Mine has never shut off at least and that's all I use mine for. My last 2 trucks didn't have inverters but a 12 volt plug in inverter did just fine for me to watch dvd's. You can get them at any truck stop in case you get an older truck. For safety's sake turn it off before you fall asleep though.
