I've noticed on my cobra 2500 when my fridge starts up is pulling about 460 to 500 watts, then it drops down to around 80. It pulls a bit more because I have one of the actual mini fridges with a real freezer.

I first tried running a small fridge on a 1,000 watt inverter. But the compressor would burn out in less than a month. Happened three times.
Then I used an 1,800 watt inverter. That worked good, but if I happened to start the truck when the fridge was starting it would blow the fridge motor.
Now I have a 2,500 watt pure sine wave inverter, It works great, no issues at all.
The actual running current of the fridge isn't a problem, it's the startup current that causes the problem.
Just read on another forum that a small fridge that normally draws 2 amps running can require up to 18 amps to start. Multiply that by 120 volts you get just over 2,100 watts peak.
