Thanks. I saw another can similar that has a loop, DOT approved and almost like a Jerry can but a bit more meat to it and DOT approved. Metal. I did find the NYDOT says it has to be steel or Alum.
10 years and 17000 hours on my Apu running great just like anything keep up maintenance and stay proactive on it
Not out to save a few bucks. It's just one more mechanical thing that has numerous other components that can fail. Alternators , starters, water pumps ,hoses, belts, radiators. After 4 years and 10,000 hours it's in need of replacement not to mention the beating they take from road debri hanging where they all do. 10,000 hours at a 1/3 of a gallon an hour is 3333 gallons at let's say 2.50 a gallon so $8300 and another $10,000 for replacement. Roughly $4500 a year to is not pennies in my book.
That's a pretty dumb argument. I've never owned a freightliner and pulled containers either.....but I know I want no part of either one. I fail to see how it is wrong to state one's preference. The man doesn't want an apu.....big deal.
It's guys like you that never owned an apu screaming from the hilltop how they are maintenance nightmares. Stating your preference and calling an apu a maintenance nightmare after 3 years when you never even owned one are two completely different things. That's called a lie where I come from.
