Inverters, difference between modified sine wave & pure sine wave

I had a modified sine wave 1,800 watt inverter that did everything I ever wanted, but when I bought an induction cooktop, it would not run. The electronics in it are not compatible with a modified sine wave inverter.
I installed a 2,500 watt pure sine wave inverter and everything worked great after that. Even the microwave worked quieter. Your 0 gauge wires are probably large enough.
A pure sine wave is like the waves in the ocean, the voltage gradually goes up, then gradually goes down. Nice and smooth.
A modified sine wave is a crude digital representation that is very choppy.

Uncleal13, thanks for the education. I called the manufacturer of the induction burner and they could not tell me what type of sine wave is needed . I am going to check the burner for functionality today.

For some leaving the dog at home is not an option. Take me for example. It also means that when I travel the dog comes with. Hes ridden in the pickup all over the US. Hes been to Canada and before it got to dangerous we even drove down to Mexico once. Hes also been on planes. He's been to the Philippines 3 times now. And when I get ready to go next year again if his health is not good enough I will put off my trip until it improves or he dies. they can't tell because they don't know... it's MADE for house uses..
As I said SOME things will work and some won't.

I have 2 road pro 1,500 in my truck. My laptop will charge on 1 but not the other
