Lol, it kinda depends. Our company limited us to 1000 watts. We got a pure sine wave inverter off amazon. It lasted through a year of hard work. Then they got us a new truck, and now we have a 3000 watt pure sine wave inverter. It's best to pick a good one if you're using computers or TVs or the like. Helps those expensive devices last longer.

I'd only be using for a microwave, coffee maker and a powered cooler

That’s the one that I want to buy.. Have you had good luck with them?

Will it run a 900w microwave and a very small Kurig coffee maker okay?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Yes, but when running a microwave or boiling water in a tea kettle, I prefer to start my truck, to put less stress on the batteries.
    Refrigerator runs 24/7

When sizing an inverter, you should go with at least
Twice the operating load of the total of all the items that could be running at one time. While a microwave says 900 watts, that is a bit short of what it is actually using. Start up load can be 2 times that.
Pure sine is easier on your electronics than a modified sine.

I have been using these for some time. Price is reasonable and quality is very good. The oldest is 7 years, the youngest is 3 years. Not one problem. Use as big a wire set as you can and put a fuse block at The battery connector.

I don’t know about brands, but you do want at least 1800 watts. That’s how Stevens Transport (a mega company) ordered their trucks in 2015. It can power a 1500 watt kettle, but it cannot power higher than a 700 watt microwave. These two items draw a lot of power quickly, so do have your truck engine or APU running before using them to prevent damaging your batteries. Your inverter will let you know if the voltage gets too low.

    Rideandrepair and Concorde Thank this.
