Or maybe policy is in effect because there are junk invertors and stupid drivers that can't wire something properly and burn the companies tractor to the ground. If is your truck fine but if not you follow the rules. That is what you signed in orientation. Trucks today are very complex and the compress are sensitive no use ruining a truck because you want to play Xbox

id love to see where you can find that specific info about every company out there.

i can understand your point here there are junk inverters out there and many who wouldnt know how to properly wire them up. trucks are not that complex that wiring up an inverter would screw with unless of course you hooked it up to the wrong wires some how. but there are some good diagrams out there how to hook one up properly if you know how to look for them. if you dont know how to hook one up than have a pro do it. inverters are simple to me only 2-3 wires to hook up a positive a negative and a lead wire..i dont play games and the only items i care to have in my truck are basics fridge computer tv and im good to go dont need anything else well maybe a small microwave

Which Walmart? The Walmart's I've tried they did not have them! Yet everyone who has one bought theirs at Walmart for $88. - $99. (maybe that's why they no longer have any??? :-D )

With new trucks today writing can and will play havoc with today's computer. Yeah it looks simple 2 or 3 weird boom your done. A power surge can go through s trucks system and fry a harness or inline fuse

ok havent had that happen to me before using inverters but i could see how that could be possible but wouldnt a fuse between the positives keep this from happening? maybe that is why it hasnt happened to me always have a fuse between the positives have popped fuses before but i assumed it was from battery to inverter not other way around. kinda the same way it is when you hook up speaker amps in 4 wheelers. will have to ask some semi mechanics about that.
respect ++ to you for the positive comments back

research of every company is not feasable, BUT this place is a valuable resource to a prospective driver for research on many many companies.

Well, that leaves me out. Or I should say - leaves Schneider out. Just doing research on companies to apply for a job. I can't imagine being an OTR and not having an inverter of reasonable size. I understand that they don't want damage to the truck. But they could - like other companies do - have their own mechanic install it for you or their mechanic check the installation. Makes way more sense.

That is one of the things about Schneider that I never understood. I am not saying that the company should buy every truck an inverter but what is the problem with somebody buying one and having the mechanics install it. Heck charge a few for the installation and be done with it. Seems fair to me.

It's not just SNI allot of company's don't want them. If you need all that stuff in your truck then buy your own truck. Cooking in truck isn't advised in trucks
