While it is true that many questions have already been asked in the past, the truth is that this site wouldn’t be as popular as it is now. So keep on asking questions. Someone will probably answer it.

The longer you are in this site, the more you’ll realize that it’s fairly easy to browse through past threads. Every once in a while we have some members bring back very old threads, like 10 years old. It’s funny, but some of that info is still relevant and useful.

You’re going to be using a fracturing company.

you send them the copies of the bills they send you payment with a percent they keep for factoring
Then they collect the money from the broker who pay them between 3 weeks to 6months etc.

so the reason you fax your bills over is because your company uses a factoring company. They collect the money and pay you.

Best to research on here and ask people in real life that have their own authority. Be respectful and humble and ask how they do it. Some will be happy to show you their method, wether it’s QuickBooks, different software, excel email methods, snail mail and notebooks etc.

but yeah, it’s pretty simple. You take a photo of the bill, pdf it with an app of choice, have a way to make an invoice (personal preference), follow the instructions of your broker customer (email address for their accounting Dept, or website upload on their private website), if they have ACH you can choose to set up ach, or wait for the paper check. Yes you can have a business bank account to do this. Remember, some contracts are set up where money can be pulled out of this same account, so having multiple accounts is wise. Most pay in 30 days (net30) some less, some a little more. Then you develop a system to keep track of who owes you.

check their credit first, with multiple sources. Like Welcome To Broker Credit Check and ansonia.

or if you choose to use a factoring company, they do all of this for a fee. And you just send the the BOL, then they ACH you the money within 24-72 hours.

Uber, Convoy, don't need invoicing. They'll pay after you upload the bills through their app.
JB Hunt, Coyote on their sites or apps have "invoice" button that by clicking will generate the invoice they need.

Factoring is unessecary for many recognizable brokers. They have their own quick pay options. The quick pay is better because it could be cheaper than factoring and it can be opted out at will.

I know everyone wants new tech. But I use freight bill with PRO numbers. I have them made at local printer with 3 part copies. Then email, or mail them to customers. It's a CYA document. shipper signs it, receiver signs it, and I sign it. I include "please pay from freight bill, No invoice to follow".

Here is a generic, you got the idea. Add any info you want. I however will not post my exact one.

Yes question like this one can be frustrating, but to be that rude isn’t called for, how about just say “been answered on here many times, just search for it”
Don’t we think it’s time we trucker start being truckers again? It use to be a tight group, now a days, it seems to be a cut throat business “how can I screw the next guy” mentality! Or “let’s see what rookie I can f€£k with this week”

It still is a tight group. But entrance to that group isn't made upon getting a license or mc#, any monkey with 300 bucks can do that.
