Thanks, I found this to be very interesting and informative.
I'm actually making the switch to Apple to be honest and noticed a speed difference between my old desk top PC (new and built using quality parts) and our new desk top Mac...it's a night and day difference! It's just hard getting used to no flash after having it for ever.
iPads, anyone using them?

I bought the ipad2 wifi only recently, it is a great device. I use mine with my verizon 4g hotspot mostly. Its very fast, touch an app it pops right up, reading magazines and books on it are perfect. You can always leave it on, grab it and do some stuff quickly, battery life is fantastic, i use mine for many days before charging it. Apps made for the iPhone and iPad differ sometimes. The iPad apps usually have more options and run better. Its perfect for streaming Netflix, small and quick, but not too small. I'm using it now, typing on it is easy.

Wow v6killer, Apple is a closed and proprietary system as well making it toxic to the internet right? Or is it bad for Adobe, good for Apple. Spoken like a true fanboy.
My wife has an iPad2, wifi only, that I bought for her. I have had a Xoom (now 4g) since April-ish. The Xoom kills the iPad2. I rarely use my laptop anymore unless I am working pretty hardcore and need to type fast. If I need more memory, I can insert a memory card and voila, it's done. iPad users have to buy a new iPad. When you buy one, you pull it out of the box and start using it, unlike the iPad2 where you have to hook it up to a laptop and iTunes (another proprietary system). The Xoom is a stand alone unit. It is also $100 cheaper now and 4g, something maybe the iPad3 will get next year, but you'll still be limited to get all content through Apple (proprietary).
No matter which one you get, don't buy the Zagg anti-glare screen saver. It is truly crap. I paid $30 for it at BB for the Ipad2 and pulled it off a few days later. Went to Verizon and got their 2-pak for $20 retail, which is the same thing I have on my Xoom and my wife can't believe the difference. -
You currently can run new ipad2 's with iOS 5 straight out of the box btw.
fortycalglock Thanks this. -
My wife has had some issues with the wifi locking up after accessing a weak signal, with the only way to fix it being to reboot it. I'm not impressed.
