I believe the law states that you have to have the past 7 days SIGNED by the driver...I just had a driver put out of service for 10 hours for log book viloation cuz he had it on his laptop but could not produce the past 7 days with his signature completed upon inspection at the scale house.

This another case of where reality and regulations need to catch up with technology.

Wife isn't required. I can plug my Iphone charger right into my printer via USB, only thing required would be an inverter to run the printer!

Adobe has a way of digitally signing their PDF files with the mouse. I wonder if the logging apps have this feature as well, and if they did, would that have been good enough for the DOT in your case, or would they still have wanted you to have printed copies??

The one I posted can be signed right on the phone then printed or emailed, never had an issue.

The charge cable is USB on one side, should be able to plug that in I would think. But then again nobody would be making money off of us if it were that easy.

You should have what is called a mini or micro usb plug on your phone if it is a smart phone, they make that plug on one end of a cable and the standard usb plug on the other end, I'm tethered to my phone right now with one. Also, most printers have a standard usb plug on them as well.
