I always buy my phone used at a reduced price, but in mint condition usually after some depreciation has set in.
The reason why the price of high end smartphones is so high is because most people including myself have used it as a replacement for a laptop and a digital camera.
Before the smartphone became a household item, I use to upgrade to a newer laptop every three or four years, now I don't feel a need to as I can do just about everything I need to do on my smartphone.
I still have a laptop that I bought new in 2008 that I use occasionally, but for me I feel there's no need to upgrade my laptop unless the person's a Gamer, (which I'm not) and needs the upgraded hardware.
Also a $100 new smartphone is no way going to perform as well with various apps as a high end phone will.
Also alot of people use their phones to play games on them too, which a low end phone isn't going to handle the graphics and speed without the app crashing.
If a person is just using a smartphone for basic stuff, a $100 smartphone will do just fine, but with so many people into social media, streaming videos and gaming it's not going to fit the bill for most people.

My laptop that I had for about 7 years running Windows 7 pretty much ground to a halt recently. I think the newest version of itunes may have had something to do with that.
Never used it for much except backing up the phone. -

Ya, we could and probably should start a new thread just on the iOS vs Android debate... personally I’m an Apple guy for my entire tech ecosystem... computers, tablets, phone, watch, etc... I used to be a PC Guy and my sister was the Apple Girl (picturing that PC vs Mac advertising campaign... lol) but I bought a MacBook Pro for my daughter for college in 2010 and an iPod ... and was sold never to look back again. In fact, I recently upgraded her laptop and I’m currently using that original MBP in my Truck... I upgraded the internals and it’s still cranking out pretty strong... just recently maxed out on the Mac OS too... not bad for 8-9 years and still doing fine although no future updates.
I also keep my iphones for like 4 years... only had 2 iPhone so far... but as mentioned, it’s also my camera, gps, communication device, etc.
But, I am very glad there are options out there too... from $100 to over $1,000.... something for everyone... while I could debate the issue, and I do have strong opinions, the best phone for someone is the phone that meets their needs...
Plus, as long as Android has the majority of “units” out there, Apple is pretty well protected from antitrust issues as there are options in the marketplace and I can keep my little Walled Garden as is without fear from Apple being told how to run their business for their customers. -
If you have a BlueParrott headset, download the app. It will do software updates for your headset.
For iPhone, you will need to change a setting as well. You will need to turn off A2DP function. The iPhone will now ring as will the headset. -

I agree. I've killed many iPhones and now I'm on a Samsung and no more problems. Longest I've ever owned a phone and 0 problems. The rest of my family is on iPhones and I'm always bringing them in for repair. Batterys dont last . Screans die.
My Samsung never let's me down or qlitchesCrappieJunkie Thanks this. -
