You know there is a tag office in St Pete right? You could walk in with your paperwork and walk out with a plate.

I was told you can only do it in Tallahassee now... If St Pete can still do it Ill be headed there in the morningfortycalglock Thanks this. -
I still prefer going to get my base plates in person. It usually costs a day of my time, but at least I know that I have the tag. This is the first year when we could do our IRP online. I did it online and then arranged to make a trip to the state capital to pick it up and give them a check. We can send in the paperwork along with a check and they will send out base plate in a few days from the time it is received. I was told it could take about 7-10 days. With that time frame, I thought it would be easier to make the trip in person.

Just a note. Your first registration will be the cheapest because your doing the estimated/minimum miles for each state. After your all done keep in mind the minimum miles to run in your home state. My plate costs me $1,250. One year I paid $2,400 because I didn't run the minimum in my own state. That never happened again!!!
