I see lots of ads on craigslist in TN for $14-16/hr for local CDL-A/B driving with small outfits or driver agencies like Trillium. Wages are low here.
Is $16 hour good for starting wages?

Here in southern cali everyone starts you off from 20 and up plus ot after 8. Temp or notzoekatya Thanks this.

16 sucks especially with no time an a half here in the northeast I'd tell them no thanks
-
As has been mentioned before. The wage is about what works for you.
If $16 hr works, go for it. Remember though that, what a company in one region pays, may not translate to your area.
Here in Northern WI. $16 hr is a good job. Sure some pay better, and MANY pay less. Sometimes the higher pay comes with less freedom and more nannies to mind you and your work.zoekatya Thanks this. -
I only brought up temp services to illustrate that the wage is low for that region of the country, especially considering that Cowan won't pay him overtime.

I own 19 trucks local and otr. Both are payed hourly. Local start at 18,25 . overtime after 60 hours a week(Canadian law). No benifits, asked all my employes if they wanted to join a health program and everything else and nobody wanted to.
If you applied in the first place, I guess you were ok with it and/or every other job was about the same.
Around here I see plenty of 13 to 15 $ an hour. Guess some are on with it?! -
Its paid by the hour. As long as its not driver unload/driver load he should be fine.zoekatya Thanks this.

You guys are crazy i live in the northeast and 16 dollars is cheap, real cheap even jockey drivers are making more then that.Say no to cheap wages!

A "cheap" wage is better than NO wage when you're in need of it.
