Well the first recruiter lied to you, what makes you think the other one will be truthful?
$350 doesn't sound too bad. What did you think you were going to make as a new driver? On the bright side, a lot of new drivers are usually on the negative side of the paycheck.
is 350 a week normal?

ok... I think someone here mentioned variables ... here's a good example; it's what happened to me and my teammate for next week's paycheck:
we started the week on monday (cause my teammate was dying for hometime but that's another story ... hmmm maybe I should start a post "Teammates who want to make money AND be home at the same time") so from Monday to today (Friday) we ran approx 4500 miles; NOW this industry is not like your regular nine to five, where you clock out and you get your paycheck for what you did last week. This is why ...in our case we deliver the load here in a couple of hours. Everything seems good right? We're gonna get paid 4500 miles next paycheck right? WRONG. Let me tell you why my young padawans, our company requires us to Transflo the documentation for us to get paid (i.e. Bill of Lading, Scale Tickets etc etc) we cannot send the documentation if we haven't finished. If we don't get the documentation in by 11:59 PM tonight we won't get this 1800 mile run we just did, which will be the case for us.
There is alot of things that can happen. Truck breakdowns, technical difficulties, DOT inspections, a misloaded trailer. Anything can F with ure lovely paycheck. Just be thankful when you make the maximum of your week and be more thankful when you'll get to the point where you won't have to drive that much to make a certain amount in a week.
I love this job. If I was rich and bored; I'd probably be doing this in one way or another, but that's not the case for me; I'm far from being rich and yeah $350 a week is garbage, BUT you don't stop running when you're halfway to the finish line do you?!?!
There is SO MUCH to be thankful for
1) YOU HAVE YOUR CDL!!!!
2)YOU USE A COMPANY OWNED VEHICLE
3)YOU'RE GETTING EXPERIENCE
A ton of people would love to be where we are now! Even a handful of people I know would give their right tenticle to be able to drive for a $#!TY company like I am ... some of us aren't fortunate enough to be picky. Work with what you have! Look at the bright side guys! You can be flipping burgers and taking orders from a dude ten years younger than you!!!
btw where's the dude who started this thread... maybe he's not making 350 a week anymore huh?Last edited: Jan 28, 2012

Well I'm happy to say recently my average pay has jumped a bit in the last few weeks. A combination of my deductions going down and going from 27cpm to 30 cpm. My last check was $750, woohoo! The one before was $400, Next one will be between $500-$600 (that's all take home). My DM did me well this month which is suprising since freight was supposed to be slow in Jan. No holidays this month helped, thanksgiving and xmas kinds messed up nov and dec.
airforcetoo Thanks this.
