Like has been said, your new. Stick it out. Put yourself in position to be your dispatchers go to guy. In other words, do whatever they want, always be on time, no griping, complaining, etc. Do a great job for a year, and move on to a better job. Do your research, find out who's moving and paying well, etc. Life gets better.
is 350 a week normal?

You have to use a GPS as a tool only because of all the different trucking routes. I've heard of even trucker friendly ones making mistakes.
You can program one yourself to agree with their routing by using legs (multiple trips, but it is actually one). Go from point A to point B. From Point B to Point C and so forth until it matches their directions.
The one I had, you could just point to an intersection and tell it to go there and it would adjust the route. Once you are sure it matches the correct route, you can enjoy the benefits of advanced directions.
Always use your Rand McNally and verify the route, restricted routes, low clearances, weigh stations with your trip planning.
Look at the company directions.
Set your GPS up to match everything and you're good to go.
I'd guess about 80-90% of the time the GPS route will match the truck route the first time. The main places you have to worry is when you get off the interstate and that you have the right way in.
It's a good habit to call the customer while doing your trip planning. Many will have a recording telling you the right way in off the interstate. -

I'd leave May but stay away from Werner! Just read the crapola about them!
$350 take home? Whats the pre tax gross? Heck if the gross is $350.00 that's just above minimum wage or $8.75 an hour! And it's also figured at 40 hours! How many hours did you "work" to make that wallet busting pay?
Hello!! You can do that at a fast food or an auto parts store delivering around town! I'd be out of their yard so fast they would think the Roadrunner went by!
$350.00 a week? That's just embarrassing, not for you, well yes it is but even for the moron who signed the check! That's THEIR name on it!airforcetoo and Logan76 Thank this. -
