Now that CSA has its teeth pulled out, you will see more trucks running around with burned out lights and flat tires.

I was driving a 900,000 mile Columbia a year ago. Pulled into the truckstop and opened the hood. Sure enough the right headlight assembly all fell out. Every week something fell off of that truck. The question was did I need to spend my time or the companies money to put it back on. Eight heavy duty zip ties latter I was going down the interstate.

Run that truck. If the other headlight goes out u might have to stop.

If you use too small of a wire on a high amperage circuit you can most definitely burn up a wire before the fuse blows. Terrible advice you're giving.

Same thing happened to the front left headlight assembly on mine, after a boy deer decided to headbutt. Pushed the assembly in breaking all the little bolts that hold inside the hood. Zip tied it all together, insurance wanted $1000 for the deductible butthe assembly was only $350 at KW. CAncel insurance claim and still ran around a couple weeks with the zip ties lol cuz it was cool.

It takes a special kind of stupid to do what you are suggesting. All you got to do is make sure your wire it's the same gauge, or bigger as what you are splicing into.

    This isn't rocket science folks.

Not everybody is an electrician. Someone might go into the truck stop and buy the first roll of wire that they see.

I would just use a wire coat hanger.

You don't need to be an electrician to understand basics. That's like saying not everyone is a plumber so they shouldn't know how to use a plunger.
