I gotta ask why?
Those azzholes left my brother sitting in a jail cell for 48 hours due to a cop with a chip in his shoulder. He was cuffed and hog tied with a giant knot tied outside the cruiser door. 4 Virginia cops worked my brother over for sleeping longer then 2 hours in a Virginia rest area. He was a member of ooida they didn't lift one ####in finger. I wouldn't piss on them people if they were on fire and a hose wasn't in site.
They only fight the fights that will make them money. They are a drain on the industry and people drink their Kool aid.dirthaller Thanks this. -
Ooida is a lobbyist group for truckers not a lawyer you call for police brutality. Respectfully, I think you misunderstand the mission of ooida.WannaGoTrucks2016 and bzinger Thank this.

What they are now and what they were 25 years ago are 2 different things. IDGAF what they think they are. They'll sue this group and that group and spend thousands or millions to lose but when a driver is beat up, tied up thrown in jail with his truck tossed, they wouldn't lift a finger to even attempt to help. They can go ### themselves and pound their service where the sun don't shine. And this wasn't some BLM police brutality BS, this was a down right beating.

Okay. This question is most likely toward me since I started this year. I don't know if it is going to be worth it after you have been an owner-operator for awhile, but it is worth it with a start-up process.
It's less than $50 per year. I'm glad I paid for it since in this forum people will answer questions, but usually, you don't get complete answers.
It helps at the beginning because they give you lists you can use to make sure you are not missing anything. They forward information quickly to you.
At the beginning, it is a lot to take. My memory isn't working like a computer, so I need to find information quickly and have it on hand. They have a compliance department. If you have any questions, you can call them. They really want to help.
It is well worth the price especially the first year you operate. Then after that you can decide if you want to stay or not.WannaGoTrucks2016 and Northern Nomad Thank this.
