They can't. Problem is the union allows it.

Yeah I don't care what a company is paying or what their benefits are, I couldn't safely run like that. I don't know how the guys on call manage that and have a life at the same time.

Union there protects their older members. It's one of the reasons I'm hesitant to go there. I'm in a union shop but the Teamsters there don't operate like at YRC. We do have different quirks though.

Not sure if my ten plus years in the Teamsters in the same local but different company would alleviate this issue. I should call the local Monday I suppose.

Might be a deal where you’re expected to be available during a certain block, but once outside that block as far as I’m concerned you’re done.

That wouldn't be so bad. At least the driver will have some type of normality in his sleep cycle. But also sucks if you're at home not turning and earning.

I thought most places with day and night runs had two call blocks that you have to be available for. I've heard of FxF drivers complaining that if they have an AM bid run get cancelled one day, they are expected to be available for the PM call block that night.

A&S Kinard is good... But you will average $800 - $900 net local. Hourly pay is $20hr
